Who we are

This website is owned and operated by David Pearce of Therapy Dave, a UK-based psychotherapist registered with the BACP and holding full professional indemnity insurance. I am based in London and offer psychotherapy services as well as online courses via Substack.

Email

If you sign up to one of my courses, your email address and any related information will be stored securely via Substack, the platform that hosts all course content. I do not store this data separately, nor do I ever sell or forward your information to third parties.

I may send you occasional updates related to your course — such as new materials or useful add-ons. These emails are sent directly by me or through the email tools available in Substack. You can opt out at any time by replying to the email or using the unsubscribe option if available.

How your data is stored

Any personal data you provide (usually just your name and email address) is securely managed via Substack. You can read about their privacy practices here.

I do not download or export your data outside of this platform, and I take care to ensure your information is kept safe and confidential in line with GDPR and BACP ethical guidelines.

Cookies

This website may use cookies to improve your experience — for example, by remembering your login status or helping us understand how the site is used. These cookies are standard, and you can control or disable them through your browser settings at any time.

Embedded content from other sites

Occasionally, course materials or blog posts may include content (such as videos or articles) embedded from other websites. These behave exactly as if you had visited the original site, and those third-party sites may collect data or use tracking cookies according to their own privacy policies.

What rights you have over your data

You have the right to request a copy of any personal data I hold about you, or to ask that your data be corrected or erased. This includes any email address or name submitted during course registration. To make such a request, simply get in touch via email.

Please note: some data may need to be retained for legal or ethical reasons, especially in the context of therapeutic work, but this will always be explained if relevant.

Final notes

I take your privacy seriously. Your data is never used beyond what’s needed to provide you with a secure and supportive experience — whether through therapy or online learning.

If you have any concerns about how your information is used, feel free to contact me directly.
